Recipes to Warm Your Heart & Your Soul

This time of year, most of us thinking, how to keep warm. What could be better than the recipes coming, who just left the kitchen of her grandmother? Whether you are a star chef, culinary students, cooking at home or foodie your passion for good food probably comes from childhood memories of cooking a grandmother. Who can forget the smell and taste of food that came from her kitchen? If you are lucky to have the childhood memories, you will be verylucky!

Vegetable Soup with Dumplings

For the dumplings: In a bowl, mix to 1 cup of flour, a pinch of salt, 1 egg and enough water to make a stiff dough. Take a teaspoon and cut off ½ teaspoon size dough and drop into the soup. Cook about 5 minutes until they rise, are finished. Meatinto bite-sized pieces and return to the soup. Sprinkle a little chopped parsley before serving. This soup is a meal in itself.

Buttermilk Biscuits

Sift 2 cups flour, ½ teaspoon salt, 1 tablespoon sugar, 2 teaspoons baking powder and ½ teaspoon of baking soda. Cut ½ stick (¼ cup) of butter with a knife or with your hands. Then, add ¾ cup buttermilk. Blend into a ball. Roll out 1 / 2 "thick. Cut into slices with a cookie cutter or a glass. Preheat oven at 400 degrees for 12up to 15 minutes.
